The recent TV series “The Last of Us” introduced viewers to a post-apocalyptic world ruled by a fungus called ophiocordyceps unilateralis, or cordyceps. However, as opposed to how destructive the fungus is to the human world in the show, real-life cordyceps are actually beneficial to human health.
